    Farms become a village

    Settlement began in 1835, German farms shaped the crossroads, and residents incorporated in 1956 to guide the suburban growth already reaching their rural community.

    A plan creates a regional center

    After incorporating in 1956, Schaumburg used the 1958 Northwest Tollway and its 1961 comprehensive plan to place industry, housing, and Woodfield at a new regional crossroads.
